Based in New York, I work for the United Nations Population Division, with research interests in fertility and family planning. Prior to joining the UN I worked for Marie Stopes International, and the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and gained a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I have lived in Malawi, the UK and the USA, and have also spent time working in India, Madagascar and Nigeria.
